SHOPDIGI : SD/SDHC/MMC/Eye-Fi card to Compact Flash CF Type II Adapter for Professional DLSR Digital SLR Camera PDA Pocket PC CustomerReview
This product allows me to put to good use the costly & perfectly good SDHC cards I bought for the Canon 450D after I’ve upgraded it to a Canon 5D mark II.
The big pro for this product, as I see it, is that my investment in SDHC card is not lost. As I’ve used the adapter with a SanDisk 16GB Extreme III 30MB/s Class 6 SDHC card, and worked as expected from insertion to camera to downloading photos to my computer, this product deserves at least the four stars I rated it.
The downside I’ve noticed is that the adapter seems to slow down the card. Reading speed seems good enough, e.g. previewing photos on the camera is as quick as the wheel turn and downloading images is nearly as fast as my card reader. Writing speed seems to have taken a hit, and I’ll check how it holds it continuous shots and video.
Write speed doesn’t bother me that much for two reasons: I expect an adapter to put a hit on card speed, and today’s fastest CF cards are at least twice as fast as SDHC cards, so where speed is important I bought a fast CF card to begin with.
A small annoyance, which I guess is unavoidable with the SDHC & CF form factors, is that the SDHC card is inserted 90 degrees to the direction in which the adapter is inserted into the camera. That means replacing an SDHC card requires taking out the CF adapter first.
Final notes: I do not own Eye-Fi cards, so have no idea how well those work with the adapter. The adapter is CF type II (= 5mm thick) so if your device accepts only CF type I (= 3.3mm thick) cards than this adapter wouldn’t fit in – though I’m unsure you would find an SDHC to CF adapter that would.

SDHC to CF Adapter – Frederick Carr – Kent, WA
Card came quicker than listed, which is always good. It works fine as an adapter for sd style cards. It even allows the HC cards to be read via an older CF ( 2 gigs or less) reader, so that’s a bonus. I bought it to have for my Konica Minolta A-200 camera, in the event I need to use some of my SD cards. There wasn’t any lag at all, in fact, using the higher numbered SDHC cards, was faster than the cf cards suggested for the camera. I’ll have to do some field testing to be sure.
Overall, for the price, it is a great little adapter (15 bucks with tax, shipping & shipping tax). Do keep in mind that it is CF II in size, so if your device can’t take CF II, don’t buy it. Your owner’s manual will tell you if you need a CF type I or CF II, or both.
Do keep in mind when inserting an SD card to a CF device (like a camera). It will need to “format” the card to it’s format. Which (on my Minolta) was a matter of adding their folder reference. Putting the card back into the Samsung camera, it didn’t even blink, but you’ll want to safe guard your photos by removing them. As with any flash media, it’s always better to actually format the card for a clean start.
Additionally, keep in mind that you may need to flash the firmware of your device to read the higher capacity (newer) cards, before using them. Your manual (or the company’s web site) will be able to guide you on this.

Doesn’t work with my Eye-Fi either – Electropostie –
I bought this adapter to use with my Eye-Fi chip because it specifically listed Eye-Fi in the title; however I can confirm that it does *not* work with the Eye-Fi Pro 2Gb and the Canon Rebel Xt or the Canon EOS 30D. Now, I was not overly bothered that two other brands of CF to SD adapter I tried did not work with the Eye-Fi, as they did not explicitly claim to, but this one states in the product description that it works with Eye-Fi, and does not list any exclusions such as the particular model of Eye-Fi chip or any specific brand of camera that it does not work with. So… one star rating for a misleading description for Eye-Fi users. But if you only need it for use with regular SDHC chips – three stars, as it does that job well enough.

Not compatible with Eye-Fi – Lancaster PA Pro Photog –
This adapter can be handy for pros with a built in SD reader in a laptop. BUT, I talked to tech support at Eye-Fi and they confirmed they have not been able to get any adapter to work properly.
Data will corrupted sooner or later.
